The Final Day

It’s a tough life isn’t it, waking up after a deep slumber and knowing that you’re going to be spending another day in paradise, although it is the last full day here, but I’ll try and push that depressing thought out of my head as it’s going to be another fun day!

We moved on to visit Dream Dominicus, one of the newest hotels on the island, set directly on the beach in Bayahibe - an ideal location to explore the region, or to just enjoy some rest and relaxation in the Dominican Republic.

It is a very well thought out resort, built with guests at the forefront. The main foyer leads your eye through to a quiet pool and on towards the palm laid beach. There are three pristine swimming pools and a beautiful spa and gym, overlooking the crystal-clear waters, with peaceful treatment spaces, gardens, and hydrotherapy areas. The top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away.

For children and teens they have it all covered with adventures, games, and social activities at the supervised Explorer’s Club and Core Zone. The big kid in me would have loved to get stuck in, it looked like so much fun!

The business facilities are second to none, featuring state-of-the-art meeting facilities with one flexible meeting room, divisible into 3 breakout rooms that can accommodate up to 250 guests in theatre seating and up to 100 guests in banquet seating. Their dedicated group event planners are always on hand to help find the perfect balance between work and play.

The final hotel visit was the Secrets Cap Cana Resort and Spa, also a brand-new hotel based conveniently ten minutes from the airport. You can truly escape into luxury at this sophisticated, adults-only hideaway located in the exclusive gated community of Cap Cana. It faces the clear Caribbean Sea along the white sandy beach of Juanillo. Everything is included here; from gourmet meals, premium spirits, 24-hour room services and all of the resorts exquisite amenities. They also boast more than 9,490 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting facilities, ideal for any size function.

All suites at Secrets Cap Cana offer sophisticated Caribbean décor and a furnished balcony or terrace with stunning views. Elegant options include bungalow suites, swim out suites, and the highest level of luxury – the Preferred Club.

If you could ever bear to peel yourself away from the luxury then water sports are of an abundance here and activities are arranged throughout the day on site and off site

Coco Bongo was our last activity before we fly home tomorrow, and with a name such as this you know you are going to experience something crazy and spectacular! It is brand new to Punta Cana and considered as one of the best nightspots in the area. Coco Bongo is a unique show production, an extraordinary musical mix, and the very latest in audio and video entertainment. Its multi-level seating allows every spectator to enjoy every show and performance from any spot. This is a night out that will leave you breathless in awe; with an amazing show, followed by a dancefloor and a live DJ. It’s a bit like Cirque Du Soleil but on a different level! VIP tickets can be purchased that allow you a privileged view of the show, just two steps from the crowd.

It has been a long time that I’ve been out for a night like this and I must admit that I was exhausted by the end, but it’s always great to experience different things and just shows you what diversity there is on this island.

And so, our final full day draws to a close. Tomorrow I’m going to go into more details about the culture of the Dominican Republic and talk a little bit more about any reservations that some may have about visiting here, hopefully alleviating any niggles.
